This page explains what information EcoNest collects when you use the site, why, and what choices you have about it. We've tried to write it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate โ if anything is unclear, email us and we'll explain it properly.
EcoNest (econest.site) is an independent recommendation site โ we help you find gifts, home and travel ideas, and more, without an account or a long form to fill in first. EcoNest is run by Nidhi, and you can reach us directly at nidhi@helpmesafety.co.uk with any question about this policy or your data.
EcoNest is built to work without needing to know who you are. None of the nine category tools require an account, a login or your email before showing you a shortlist. The only information we collect directly is:
Like most websites, EcoNest uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies to make the site work and to understand how it's used:
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking cookies won't stop the core tools on EcoNest from working, though personalised ads and affiliate commission tracking may stop working correctly.
Every idea on EcoNest links out to a third-party retailer or service so you can compare prices and buy wherever suits you. Once you leave EcoNest, that site's own privacy policy applies, not this one โ we'd always recommend checking it, particularly before you enter any payment details. EcoNest doesn't see or store anything about what you buy once you've clicked through.
Any information EcoNest does hold is used only to:
We don't sell your personal data to anyone, and we don't share your email address with third parties except where a service provider (such as an email delivery tool) needs it purely to send the newsletter on our behalf.
If you're in the UK or the EU, data protection law gives you a number of rights over any personal data we hold about you, including the right to:
To use any of these rights, email nidhi@helpmesafety.co.uk. If you're ever unhappy with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
EcoNest isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their email address, contact us and we'll remove it.
We may update this page from time to time, for example as we add new tools or change ad or affiliate partners. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent change. We'd encourage checking back occasionally rather than relying on being notified individually.
